Grunge and glamour came to the fore as Kunal Rawal showcased his collection called ‘Process’ in association with NEXA at Lakmé Fashion Week 2020 Digital First Season Fluid Edition.
Style sensibility for men was what you witnessed in this collection, a clear depiction of Indian black-tie that represents night and glamour. You saw that touch of elegance as the designer brought together accentuated, glistening, metallic elements with defined silhouettes.
With a focus on the demand of youth for modern occasion wear, the line turned out to be a fun play on silhouettes and shapes in military colours like black, off-white and grey. What was nice to note was the multiple versatile separates that can be juxtaposed and paired with multiple pieces of the collection to create different looks.
‘Process’ is a chic combination of Indian black tie, creamy groom wear and occasion wear grey. The inspiration palette has elements of industrial and grunge. And launched were four new androgynous silhouettes.
The visual flashing across your phone or laptop screen depicted the very process of creating the garments. It is well known that the designer has always been impressed by the rawness of creating a luxury piece, archiving the different grunge elements in his brand’s factory and focusing on stitching/pattern cutting and even the laid-out fabric rolls.
And joining Kunal Rawal was the debonair Ishaan Khatter and the lovely lady Sonakshi Sinha who seemed thrilled with the edgy and exquisite ensemble she was donning.
