Birthday boy Troy Costa (yes, it was his birthday on October 7) took you on a terrific trip at the FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week. It was the FDCI Men’s Edit presentation, with men, men and still more men showcasing the ‘Avido Tourista’ collection for men who long to travel after the long no-travel ban.
From sporty to suity it was a cheery, happy line that made you believe in a glorious great escape. The inspiration was the stylish male, a Mumbaikar from the city that is a world in itself and spreads love. It was all about dressing up stylishly with a lot of attitude, but in an almost casual nonchalant manner.
While the cuts were classic and simple, their overall impact gave a great sartorial punch to the wearer. Aimed at the extrovert in every male dresser, the clothes were shorn off very little pretence.
It was a vibrant colour story, bold and daring, with an adventurous spark, for a man who wants to move into society and be the style icon at the top of the fashion ladder.
What you witnessed was the airport look for the man on the go. And you saw that the millennial man can even look good in a pink suit!
