Kicking-starting the Paris Fashion Week off to a great start, Virgil Abloh’s Off-White held its first fashion show since the unexpected demise of the legendary American designer. Revisiting his collections for the final time, the street style brand unveiled its latest Fall 2022 collection on day one of the sartorial soiree. Titled "Spaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience," this posthumous collection featured Abloh’s Ready-To-Wear pieces.
Celebrating his legacy, friends, family and the fashion fraternity came together for this iconic show. Models, artists and cultural icons such as Serena Williams, Jim Jones, Honey Dijon and Ian Isiah walked for the designer’s ready-to-wear section whereas supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid strutted in glittery gowns. Models holding a while flag with Virgil's phrase, “Question Everything" was definitely one of the highlights of the show.
Not just a start-studded line-up, the show’s front row seats the likes of Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Jonathan Anderson, Olivier Rousteing, Matthew Williams, Guram Gvasalia and more.
Speaking of the collection, Spaceship Earth paid an ode to Virgil’s tradition of merging athleisure aesthetics with evening-wear cocktails. Graphic tees with tulle skirts, hoodies teamed with skirts and trains were on a grand display. Kendall donned her never-worn 2020 Met Gala number printed with “LITTLE BLACK DRESS,” Bella’s wedding dress-inspired couture piece was teamed with chunky sneaks and Naomi oozed sultry vibes in her textured velvet pants layered with an overcoat and chandelier-inspired jewels.
Virgil was indeed at the show and he was proud!
