Closing the final leg of the fashion month on a high-sartorial note, the now-ended Paris Fashion Week 2022 highlighted the best of seasoned brands showcasing their Fall/Winter 2022 collection. Just like every year, this time too, the fashion week saw its striking moments. From Off-White’s tribute to Virgil Abloh’s final collection to Demna’s ode to Ukraine’s ‘fearlessness and resistance’ with Balenciaga’s powerful presentation, PFW lent its runway for some serious statements.
This week saw some big luxury players dominating the runway by using a key element in their collection. For starters- Valentino set the tone to fuchsia pink whereas Chanel ushered all things vintage tweed! While many brands put for their unique collections this season, there were some trends that subtly managed to emerge. From power-packed suits and see-through silhouettes to fauxy leathers and feisty catsuits, here are the ranging trends of PFW straight from the runway!
SUIT YOURSELF
Just as always, this season witnessed some power-packed suited looks with oversized as well as cut-out blazers, all thanks to brands such as Chanel, Coperni, Courrèges, Schiaparelli, amongst others. We also skirt suits dominating this week’s fashion charts.
ALL THINGS LEATHER
A wardrobe staple for Fall/Winter collections, leathers made a dominating presence on the runway in form of biker jackets, sexy dresses and pants. Petar Petrov, Coperni, Ludovic De Saint-Sernin, Courrèges presented us with their version of this sexy fauxy silhouette.
OVERCOATS
Keeping up with the Fall-Winter trend, we saw a lot of overcoats on the runway, courtesy of Valentino, Nina Ricci, Courrèges, Off White amongst many others.
COZY FURS
No F/W collection is complete without the extravagant fur coats and luxury labels like Coperni, Stella Mccartney, Chloe and others unveiled their warm wardrobe staple for the season.
DARING MESH SILHOUETTES
The sheer fashion trend made its way back on the runway with daring see-through dresses, translucent lingerie-esque outfits and sultry laces. Lanvin, Valentino, Dior, Saint Laurent and Coperni were one of the many labels who presented us with their sensuous picks.
FEISTY CATSUITS
Besides Kim Kardashian’s front row stint, the runway saw a lot of one-and-done pieces this fashion week. From Balenciaga’s caution-taped to Dior, Stella, and Hermes onesies, we saw catsuits in all their glory.
GLITTERATI
Sequined LBDs to shimmery dresses, the runway was covered with glitter, courtesy of brands such as Miu Miu, Sacai, Off-White amongst many others.
