Designer JJ Valaya ended Day One of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week with a grand fashion showcase. Celebrating his 30th year in fashion, he launched his all-new bridge-to-luxury brand “JJV”, as an eco-conscious collection made from TENCEL™ LUXE filament yarn, which is derived from renewable wood sources in a closed loop Lyocell process. The debut “JJV” collection “Rumeli – the Summer Story” was an appealing line for fashion-conscious women.
The new “JJV” collection was a perfect offering for the new fashion season in India. The inspiration was from the life of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh of Kapurthala, which was very evident as the creations emerged with great grandeur on the ramp when the designer unveiled a grand sartorial story that will be desired by his loyal fans.
Fusing Turkish elements with riches from the Balkans, this collection oozed opulence in the form of lehengas, sarees, sherwanis presented with classic embroideries, signature geometric shapes, intricate details, and exquisite prints.
The colour palatte ranged from maroon, navy blue and black to olive green and silver. Adding a flair of drama to the ensembles were those cinch waist belts that appeared as a statement accessory in this collection.
The spectacular showcase of this collection closed with the gorgeous Mrunal Thakur who walked the runway as the showstopper.
