India Couture Week 2022: Indo-French finesse in Love Forever from Falguni Shane Peacock

The strains of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ wafted in the air as designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock unveiled their Love Forever collection at India Couture Week 2022, presented by FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) in association with Lotus Make-up.

Influenced by fabulous French tapestry and artwork from the Renaissance period, these elements were married to Indian architectural facets like minarets, archways, and domes.

Yes, what you witnessed was a delightful display of detailed motifs that showcased the very best of Indo-Parisian culture and architecture. From transcribing the structures of the architectural gem on ensembles to varnishing them with refined stones and pearls, the collection refreshingly reflected the French tapestry essence in a traditional Indian garb.

Traipsing across the white artistic statues were models sporting cropped blouses with sheer feather and ruffle details, teamed with chrome applique and crystal work embedded in structured lehengas. The colour palette ranged from softer hues like champagne ivory, pale blush, pink parfait, old rose, peach whip, beet red and French roast to deeper hues like pepper corn, metallic stone green, metallic pewter, gilded gold and opal white. And what enamoured you were the embellished face veils.

The showstopper was Sara Ali Khan looking lovely in a glittering blue ensemble with intricate sequin work. A fitting finale to a fabulous show!
