Light, camera, action! Yes, it looked like a movie unfolding before you at the Satya Paul show, high up in the drive-in theatre at JioWorld Drive at FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week. The models were on the move in the gigantic space, with a lot of legwork to do if they were on foot. Others were on roller-skates, on bicycles, being driven in motorbikes, in cars and on carts filled with candyfloss that reminded you of the movies.
Presented at the Satya Paul show were new possibilities for an uncertain world, a world in which fantasy comes alive on a planet increasingly closed to the power of the imagination. The collection, you could sense, is fit for earthlings seeking an alternative. It is equally committed to land and sky. Its athleisure proposes more playgrounds in our cities which dive into deep oceans and occasionally fly. The accessories are companions for those planning a trip to a dreamscape that can neither be found on Google maps or by the famous Mr. Musk. And for the nocturnes among us the otherworldly prints are made glam with carefully executed craft, so that planetary travel is always possible.
Heaven was kind once again, as in the opening showcase, for though it was pouring buckets of rain in the early evening, the sky was clear and you could clearly see the glow of the moon, And invitees to the Satya Paul show had a further surprise … post-show luxury drinks and cocktails were on the house along with popcorn!
