Urban Tribe was what Rina Dhaka called her chic collection at FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week at Jio World Centre. And looking chic was showstopper Shamita Shetty bedecked in an unconventional sheer/opaque corset-style blouse with puff sleeves and a colourful, printed, maxi skirt with a tantalising slit along with a white, ornate, hipster belt.
The line was inspired by archives, pieces of vintage embroidery and botanical prints. It was a 70/90s reflection with a riot of colours. It was all traditional yet modern with a cool relaxed look at glamorous resort wear. Working on her concept of “back to the future”, Rina recreated some innovative versions from her classic collections.
There was a bright bonanza of sunshine tones, while embellishments were at the core of the collection, as Rina brought in her well-known mirror-work to highlight crafts like crochet and knits. The white ensembles with laser cutwork seemed just right for the summer or the October heat. Sheer skirts, cool maxis, midi tunics, corsets and bikinis, among other ensembles caught your eye at this stylish show.
