Hair and flair, show and glow galore in Goa!

It was glam slam all the way in Goa as Lakmé Academy powered by Aptech concluded its very first edition of a fashion runway titled The Showcase. Professional hair and makeup by students were on view as the models sashayed down the catwalk at Alila Diwa Goa. The show, choreographed by Nisha Harale, featured fashion wear by Samanth Chauhan.

Over 2000 talented students from the Lakmé Academy all over India participated in different categories of hair, skin, makeup and nails and over 500 of them were shortlisted to participate in the grand finale of The Showcase. The winning students will get an opportunity to work with ace choreographer and director Farah Khan on her next project.

The gold winner was South Campus, Delhi centre, followed by Malad, Mumbai (silver winner) and Camac Street, Kolkata (bronze winner). The runway saw a surplus of creativity, confidence and craftsmanship displayed by the students ready to be industry-ready professionals of tomorrow.

This grand competition kickstarted in November with preliminary rounds undertaken at a regional level. Students were given themes such as fairy-tale illusion, gothic and avant-garde in categories like hair, makeup, and individual categories like nails and skin. As many as 100 teams were shortlisted to fly down to Goa for the grand finale.
