Making heads turn was Karisma Kapoor who walked down the runway in a glittering, backless gown, embellished with 3D embroidery and fabric tassels and an ornate jacket that dramatically completed the look. She was the shining showstopper for Ranna Gill’s Casa dei Fiori collection at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Garden.
You felt that vibrant sensation as you soaked in the sight of the prints inspired by the natural beauty of the blooming landscapes. The colours were inspired by the dark botanicals of the lush gardens, while cheerful coral bouquets captured the beauty of a sun-kissed summer’s day.
On view were breezy, maxi dresses, chic coordinated set, extravagant Cinderella ball gown skirts and shimmering sequinned gowns. The dazzling 3D floral embroidery ensured that there was enough glitz, glamour and drama in the collection.
Earlier, it was time for Nirmooha by Preeti Jaiin Nainutia to showcase the Matrix collection with a defused version of abstract patterns overlaid with striking linear graphics. The colours appeared to be slightly decadent but rich in shades as glowing emerald, stunning amethyst, imposing jade, regal ruby, muted carbon and neutral eggshell whites came together in perfect harmony.
In menswear there were shimmering shirts, a shorts/shirt /jacket trio as well as some striking robes. Women’s wear was dressy and incded a glittering trench-coat and a two-piece suit with a jacket that emphasised the wide lapels.
Ending the show was Tamannaah Bhatia, gleaming in a slinky, black figure-hugging, halter gown with silver abstract motifs.
