FIR filed against singers Ankit Tiwari, Akriti Kakkar and Shilpa Rao

Troubles are not new for Ankit Tiwari who has landed himself in a fresh controversy yet again, along with singers Shilpa Rao and Akriti Kakkar. A US-based company has filed a case against the singers for not performing at a show 2 years back. As per the claim, the firm had paid the singers Rs 30 lakh for the show.

The event management company has filed a complaint of cheating against them at Oshiwara Police station which also included Ankit's brother Ankur Tiwari's name. The Mumbai police have registered a cheating case against Ankit and others, and a notice has been issued to the trio who will be summoned for questioning. However, none of the three are currently in town.

As for Deep Kumar Vora, the complainant, that despite him flying down to Mumbai from the US especially to speak to the aforementioned singers and sort the matter, but none replied to his requests of refunding the amount or do the promised show. It was due to this behaviour that the Vora was and his company were compelled to file an FIR against them.

According to the reports, the complainant, who is a manager at Deep VIP Travels, got in touch with Tiwari two years ago, who agreed to do a show for them. An amount of Rs 30 lakh was paid to a firm Brotherhood Entertainment - owned by Ankit and his brother. Shilpa Rao is a partner in the firm. Akriti was also approached for the show.

Inspector Arjun Rajane of Oshiwara police station said, "We will be calling them for a statement soon. The singers are not in town right now but they have been summoned."

No statement has been issued from the singers' end.

Ankit Tiwari, earlier also have been embroiled in a rape case from which he was acquitted earlier in 2018
