Comedy Night's fame Upasana Singh escapes molestation attempt by taxi driver

Known to play the infamous Pinky Bua on the Kapil Sharma Show, Upasana Singh narrowly escaped a molestation attempt whilst shooting for a film in Sayyoni, Chandigarh recently. The actress was returning to her hotel with her hairdresser after wrapping up the shoot when she noticed something off about the taxi driver. The taxi driver took more than an hour than what was a 45-minute ride from the sets to the hotel. He reportedly took her to a dark stretch at night which is when Upasana got alarmed and informed her family members and the police who responded promptly saving her from any untoward incident.

Speaking to PeepingMoon, Upasana recalled the dreadful night. "On the last day of my shoot, I packed up and left for the hotel. My hairdresser was with me. Since it was a 45-minute ride, I decided to take a power nap. It had been almost an hour since we were driving when my hairdresser realized we were on the wrong path and she immediately woke me up. When we inquired the driver, he said that he had forgotten the route which was surprising considering he is from Chandigarh and has been travelling with us for the past four days. We asked him to stop the car immediately but he didn't. I shouted loudly and he handed me his keys however the car did not start,” shared the actress.

"The driver got out of the car, picked up a stone and hit the inside of the bonnet of the car. He started misbehaving with us. We screamed and hit him with our sandals. Thankfully, a car came towards us and offered to help us. Initially, we were skeptical but they helped us and called the police. I informed my producers and gave the whole statement to the police,” she further added.

The actress who hails from Punjab herself was shocked at the unfolding of these unfortunate events in her state. She said, "I myself am from Punjab and it's hard to believe that my own home would not be safe for me."

"I wanted to go for a stern punishment because if can happen to me, it can happen to anyone but then I decided to let it go post he wrote an apology letter,” said Upasna before signing off.
