The web is closing around ex-Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni… She is a main accused in a high-profile drug racket case in 2016, along with her alleged drug baron boyfriend, Vicky Goswami. However, she has failed to appear in court in connection with the Rs.2,000 crore case. Now, three of her properties, valued at approximately Rs.20 crore, have been ordered to be attached by the special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court in Thane.
Two years ago, the police had claimed that Mamta had been involved in illegal activities. Proceedings for her extradition and that of Goswami had begun. They had been given an opportunity to appear before the court. However, last year, the Kenya-based couple was declared as absconders by a Thane court. The police are now moving to attach Mamta’s properties.

The drug bust occurred after 100 kg of ephedrine was manufactured at the Avon Lifesciences' premises and sent by air to Kenya. Vicky Goswami had made the payment for the same to Mukesh Jain, a director of the company, through hawala, which is an informal channel for transferring funds.
