It hit the headlines when it recently emerged that gangster Sampat Nehra, who was arrested in Hyderabad earlier this week, was working on a plan to kill actor Salman Khan. The Haryana Police had revealed that Nehra, 28, had gone to Mumbai in the first week of May for a recce as part of the plan; clicked photos of the star’s home and the routes leading to it on his mobile phone.
In chilling revelations, Deputy Inspector General of the Haryana Special Task Force (STF), Satheesh Balan had shared that Sampat had “surveyed the house of Salman Khan and the time when he comes out in the balcony of his house to wave to his fans. He tried to find out the distance to the balcony and had even taken few photographs of the house.”

Sampat Nehra, who is wanted in over a dozen cases of murder, extortion, and robbery, is a sharpshooter with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Bishnoi had threatened to kill Salman Khan in January. Rajasthan's Bishnoi community, to which Lawrence Bishnoi belongs, had pursued the 20-year-old blackbuck poaching case against the actor. In April, Salman was sentenced to five years in jail for killing two blackbucks in 1998 while shooting for the film Hum Saath Saath Hain. He was released on bail after spending two nights in prison at the Jodhpur Central Jail.
While Sampat may be in police custody, the Haryana STF continues to be tense about the fact many of his aides are still on the loose. The fear remains that these sharpshooters could still target Salman and carry out the contract taken by Sampat. While the Mumbai police have been alerted in this regard, a team will also travel to Haryana to interrogate Sampat.
The police are apparently still clueless about the whereabouts of sharpshooter Sampat Nehra’s three aides, named Raju, Akshay and Ankit. They are apparently still on the run and the cops do not have their location as of now. These men continue to pose a threat as they remain a potential danger to Salman Khan’s life.
