Yesterday one the top headlines on a leading news channel was that of a popular jewellery brand accusing actress Hina Khan of withholding jewellery worth Rs. 12 Lakhs. The brand claimed that the jewellery was lent to the actress for an event as an endorsement. However, post the show she managed to exit the venue without returning it to the concerned authorities.
The company then tried contacting her and even sent a legal notice, to which she did not respond. It was then that the brand sought attention from media houses. Reacting to these statements, the actress tweeted saying that all it was a "tactic" to bring her down. She also said that somehow the legal notice that was the point of discussion had managed to reach multiple media outlets but her house.

After the entire fiasco, she spoke to another leading news channel and said that she never wore their jewellery for the event since she did not like them and hence opted for something else. She transferred her blame on to her stylist Hemalata's assistant who misplaced it in an autorickshaw. She even said that they are trying to return it and have already paid Rs. 2.86 Lakh.
Talking about the legal notice she said, "I just want to say, show me the signatures of receiving on it. But definitely this incident has defamed me, so, my lawyers are looking into it. They don’t know what is going to happen to them. They are definitely going to receive a legal notice from me. I will make sure they apologize."
