Kangana Ranaut says she is being ‘harassed’ by real estate broker in Mumbai after property deal

Kangana Ranaut mired herself into a controversy following a dispute with a real estate broker after he demanded higher fees than what was allegedly agreed upon in connection with a property that the actress had purchased in 2017.

Last year, Kangana bought a bungalow in Mumbai’s Pali Hill - a total area of 3,075 sq ft and 565 sq ft car parking space. Her finance team has reportedly paid Rs 1.03 crore as stamp duty, breakage fees and one per cent brokerage fees – an amount of Rs 22 lakh – to the real estate agency. The broker, however, is demanding another per cent of the deal.

Kangana, in the meantime, said that she is being harassed by the broker and has informed police officials about this fiasco as well.

“I paid the agency who did the bungalow deal for me, one percent brokerage which adds to Rs 22 lakh. Their dues have been paid many months ago. The said person is one of the brokers who offered this deal to me. My finance team never dealt with him directly but now he is harassing us for Rs 22 lakh more - he is claiming two per cent of the transaction made from my end which was never promised to him before or after the deal. So this doesn’t make sense and we have made it clear to the cops as well, as we have all the evidence,” Kangana said.

The real estate broker, in fact, had approached the Khar Police station in July and submitted a written complaint, saying that his dues haven’t been settled as yet by Kangana and her finance team in a deal, where he helped the actress to purchase the said bungalow, a leading entertainment portal reported.

Kangana’s sister Rangoli, as per the entertainment portal, also said that their statement has been submitted to the police.
