Finally, some good news for Salman Khan produced film Loveyatri that stars his brother-in-law debutant Aayush Sharma and debutante Warina Hussain. The Supreme Court on Thursday gave a breather to the makers of the film and directed that no coercive action is to be taken in any part of the country against Salman Khan Ventures Pvt Ltd.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra considered the submission that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to release on October 5. An FIR was lodged against the film’s title which was previously Loveratri after which it was subsequently changed to Loveyatri.
However, the complainants did not welcome the name change and maintained that the film demeaned and disrespected Navratri and women. Apparently, an FIR has been registered in Bihar and a criminal complaint is pending in Vadodara in Gujarat.
The bench took the plea of the producer in consideration and said that no coercive action shall be taken against the film’s content or the name of the film. Several religious groups had raised objections to the name of the film after which Salman issued a statement that the film did not mean to demean any culture but eventually changed the name of the film. The earlier name sounded like the Hindu festival of Navratri and was objected to.
