Gangs Of Wasseypur writer Zeishan Quadri booked for allegedly cheating producer of Rs. 1.5 cr

According to a media agency's report, Gangs Of Wasseypur writer Zeishan Quadri was booked by the Amboli Police on Monday. Reportedly, Zeishan is accused of cheating co-producer Jatin Sethi Rs. 1.5 crores. The producer reportedly claimed that he and a friend of his had invested in a web series that was to be made by Zeishan. 

Reportedly, the complaint has been registered under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust). According to the complaint, Zeishan failed to return the money as per their agreement and had given cheques to Sethi and his friend but they bounced. The police have reportedly assured that Zeishan will be soon called for questioning.

Confirming the same, Someshwar Kamthe, senior inspector, Amboli police station, told a leading daily, "The complainant has alleged that instead of using the money to develop the series, Quadri used the money for other expenses."

Zeishan was one of the writers of the recently released film Chhalaang. He also turned writer and producer for Barun Sobti and Sachin Khedekar's web film Halahal. He shot to fame as one of the writers of Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur-II. He also played the role of Definite Khan. He was recently seen in ALT Balaji and ZEE5's show Bicchoo Ka Khel.
