Mumbai-based TV anchor reportedly rapes a 22-year-old woman in Delhi

According to reports, a 22-year-old woman has accused a Mumbai-based news channel anchor of raping her at a 5-star hotel in Delhi's Chanakyapuri. The police reportedly registered a case against the 28-year-old journalist who is said to be working with a leading business channel.

Reportedly, the woman, in her complaint, stated that she had known the accused for the past 3 years since her college days in Pune. According to a media agency's report, the anchor messaged the victim on January 30 saying he was coming to Delhi to attend a wedding ceremony. He reportedly asked her to meet him in Delhi's Khan Market. The media agency's report further stated that he took her to the hotel where he was staying with his family. Taking her to a separate room, he raped her.

However, I requested the accused to meet me directly for breakfast at Khan Market, New Delhi as opposed to his friend’s house, at which point, the accused agreed,” FIR stated.
