Recently, it was reported that Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal had been booked for sexual assault by Khar police. As per media report, an FIR was filed against Madhur for allegedly barging into his ex-girlfriend’s house and assaulting her. Now, the actor has been reportedly granted interim protection from arrest by the Mumbai court. Madhur filed an anticipatory bail application. According to the application he claimed that he proposed to his girlfriend in December when he had visited her in Goa.
As per an online portal, the anticipatory bail application filed by Madhur, his girlfriend also came back to Mumbai a week after he did and stayed with his family in the city. Apparently, she asked him to give her a promise ring to which the actor agreed. However, she had an altercation with his mother and left the house asking Madhur to look for a separate place for both of them. He also alleged that the girl started pressurizing him to share the rent of the apartment where she was staying and wanted to get a joint account in their name.
The online portal also reported that in February, the girl threatened to break up after Madhur got busy for a shoot in Jaipur. Madhur stated that he returned to Mumbai on February 13 and was invited by the girl and they consummated their relationship with her consent. He further alleged that they got into a fight after which he got busy with work and after ten days the girl registered the FIR, claiming sexual assault.
Judge SP Agarwal reserved the order for March 26, and granted the actor interim protection until then. However, an online portal quoted the girl’s lawyer who said, “Madhur Mittal was livid with anger. He got into my client's room and without giving her any chance to talk, strangled her neck more than 15 times, slapped her multiple times, pulled her hair, yanked her ears and punched her under the right eye, physically lifted her and assaulted her. It was a sexual attack. She has sustained bruises and injuries all over her face, neck, chest, ribs, hands, back and ears and eyes.”
