Yuvika Chaudhary booked by Haryana Police for using casteist slur in viral video

Former Bigg Boss 9 contestant Yuvika Chaudhary has been booked by Haryana Police after a Dalit rights activist registered an FIR against her. She has been booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on Friday evening, May 28, according to the Station House Officer of Hansi city police station.

Dalit rights activist, Rajat Kalsan, alleged that the actress made some derogatory and objectionable remarks about the Scheduled Caste community in her vlog that went viral recently for all the wrong reasons. The actress had used a casteist slur that did not sit well with the people and social media users who slammed her. Kalsan handed a copy of the video over to the police after registering the FIR. The complaint was made to Hansi Superintendent of Police Nikita Ahlawat on May 26 in this regard, the police said today. After a formal investigation by the cyber cell, an FIR was lodged against Yuvika Chaudhary at Hansi city police station.

Yuvika had shot a video with her husband, Prince Narula where he was seen getting a haircut. To describe how bad he looked, she referred to a certain community and says he looks like them. This led to the hashtag #ArrestYuvikaChoudhary trending on Twitter.

The actress took to social media to tender and apology and wrote, “Hi guys I didn’t kw the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n every one I hope you understand love you all (sic).”
