On Monday night, Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra was taken into Mumbai Police's custody for allegedly making pornographic films and publishing them through mobile applications. Sources claim that the police found Raj to be the "key conspirator" in the entire matter. The Property cell of Mumbai Crime Branch apparently intercepted a call exchange between an unknown person residing in Mumbai and a Middle East-based porn mafia. The person is said to be a U.S nation who has been running a pornography business.
Sources say that post the interception, the Mumbai police filed 2 FIRs and also arrested 9 people in the case. Allegedly, the police traced down some girls and recorded their statements. In their official statements, the girls reportedly revealed that an international pornography gang is active in Mumbai and its members allegedly blackmailed, threatened and even 'forced' not-so-popular actors to shoot pornographic films. It was reportedly revealed that the small-time actors were forced to sign blank agreement papers. According to sources, the girls claimed that the videos were streamed on paid mobile applications.
On the other hand, actress Poonam Pandey reportedly accused Raj of being the mastermind of the entire pornography business in India. Sources say that she has filed a case against Raj and his associates in Bombay High Court.
Raj, a businessman, has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of IPC besides other sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Raj will be produced before the 37th Esplanade metropolitan magistrate's court.
