Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra's arrest in an alleged pornography case on Monday night shook the industry. He will remain in Mumbai Police's custody till July 23. Apart from Raj, his aide Ryan Tharp was arrested from Nerul this morning. After Raj's arrest, actress Gehana Vasisth issued a video statement.
In her statement, Gehana, who is known for web shows like ALT Balaji's Gandii Baat, said that nobody makes porn videos. She further stated that people should not mix porn content with erotica. Gehana called Mumbai Police is the best force in the country. The actress requested that facts should not be twisted.
Gehana's publicist also issued a statement this morning. The statement mentioned, "The law will take its course. We have full faith in Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that Mumbai police is the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used, by others."
Without naming Raj, Gehana's publicist added, "We don't want to comment any more, as Gehana is on bail in the same cases and she does not want to prejudice or impair her right to her personal defence. However, police should investigate fully as there are many more skeletons in the cupboards of the rich and famous."
In the month of February this year, Gehana aka Vandana Tiwari was arrested for allegedly shooting and uploading pornographic videos. A raid was conducted at a bungalow in Madh Island where a film was being shot with the help of mobile phone cameras. Reportedly, 9 people have been arrested in the case since February.
