In 2020, Poonam Pandey accused Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra and his associates of illegally using content featuring her even after a contract between the two parties was terminated. She filed a complaint in the Bombay High Court. Now, days after Raj's arrest in an alleged pornography case, Poonam spoke to a leading daily and called her professional collaboration with them the 'biggest mistake' of her life. Poonam added that Raj's team told her that she won't receive her payment until she signed a contract. However, she refused.
"When I signed an MOU with them, which lasted for a month, it became clear that they were cheating and were extremely unprofessional. I terminated my contract with immediate effect. Getting into a professional collaboration with these people was the biggest mistake I made in my life. They are frauds. My life became an open book. I went through another level of trauma. I cursed myself for sharing my passwords and credentials with their team. When we reached out to Raj’s team, we were told that we won’t be paid until I signed a contract with them and started working with them again. I flatly refused. How could I do it knowing that these guys hacked into my accounts and personal space? Yeh log samajhte kya hain khud ko? He couldn’t convince me because he knew that I wasn’t relying on just his app for work," Poonam said.
She added, "In fact, I wanted to terminate any and all association with Armsprime. I wanted the app they had created in my name, taken off the internet. Shortly after, I was approached by Raj Kundra personally to be a part of another app — by the name of ‘HotShots’. It was 100% pure blackmail. It was like — Do this or suffer the consequences. On my refusal, my private mobile numbers were leaked on the internet on the aforementioned app."
In 2020, Poonam claimed that she signed a deal with Raj and his associates, called Armsprime Media. They were handling The Poonam Pandey App. However, she went on to claim that they have been using content meant for the app even after the contract to do so expired by over eight months. Poonam alleged that Raj used the content and minting money. She stated that over a period of six months she received obscene calls. The actress even said that Raj and his team leaked on personal contact number.
But, Armsprime Media issued a statement saying Poonam's allegations were baseless. The statement read, "The allegations by Poonam Pandey are false and frivolous. We have not received any notice or even a copy of the Writ Petition filed. We are surprised at how can we even be made a party to such Petition. There has been a breach of contract on her part and we are exercising our rights as per the agreement. Since the matter is sub-judice in High Court, we don't wish to make any further statement. Just because Raj is an investor in Armsprime, she is trying to extort money by misusing criminal law."
