Nora Fatehi has filed a defamation suit against Jacqueline Fernandez and some media organizations in a Delhi court in connection with the 200-crore extortion case being probed by central agencies in which conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar is the main accused.
Nora and Jacqueline have both been questioned in a money laundering case filed against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Nora's plea alleged that Jacqueline “made defamatory imputations” due to “malicious reasons” with an intent to “destroy her career to further her own interests”. “It has started to become evident that the aforementioned rivals being unable to compete with the Complainant fairly in the industry have started to try and tarnish her reputation which would cause her loss of work,” Nora's plea read.
In the defamation suit, Jacqueline has been made the "accused 1". “That the complainant is aggrieved of defamatory remarks, made by the accused persons against the complainant, hence the present complaint. It should be reiterated that these defamatory remarks were made by the Accused No. 1 initially which was further carried forward and circulated by the other accused persons, all of whom were acting io connivance with each other and a conspiracy by the Accused No. l to ensure the financial, social, and personal downfall of the Complainant was batched, and enacted by the said actions,” it added.
“Jacqueline Fernandes sought to criminally defame the complainant in order to destroy her career to further her own interests, since they are both working in the same industry and have similar backgrounds, amongst other reasons,” her plea further stated.
