Padmavati marks Raza Murad’s third film collaboration with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Raza and SLB had earlier got together for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. The ace filmmaker has a history of repeating his actors. From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone to Ranveer Singh, he has cast all of them in more than two of his films.
Peeping Moon reports that the next actor to join this list is veteran Raza Murad whom Bhansali is directing in his period drama Padmavati.
According to our sources, Raza is currently shooting at Film city Mumbai, for a week. He adds, “Raza is shooting with Ranveer for a significant sequence in the film. He plays a vital part as Ranveer’s (Alauddin) uncle.”
Talking about the film’s progress, the source further states while Deepika Padukone who plays the role of Rani Padmavati has completed shooting for the climax, she is yet to shoot for the songs and the fancy bit of the movie.
Bhansali has managed to rope in some of the biggies of Bollywood in this magnum-opus, including Shahid Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hyadri.
Padmavati was slated to release in November this year, however, due to certain hiccups during the shoot, the film might release in mid-2018. It’s just a matter of time to see how the film looks on the big screen.
