Guess who lent Anupam Kher ₹30 in his days of struggle?

Actor Anupam Kher was helped by director Mahesh Bhatt during the former actor's struggling days. "Bhatt saab gave me six five rupees note, 30 rupees in total to go home," he said, recalling past memories. Going down the memory lane, Anupam shared an anecdote with Bhatt at the trailer launch of Ranchi Dairies. "We were shooting for Saaransh and I didn't have any money. Bhatt saab was going to Delhi and I wanted to spend some more time with him and also wanted to be dropped half way, so I accompanied him in a taxi. But when I got down, I was clueless, as to how would I reach home. Sensing my situation Bhatt saab handed me money so that I could travel," Anupam shared, and added, " But I still went home walking, I ate food for a week with that money."

Mahesh and Anupam have worked in more than 15 films together. The actor-director duo's last film was Chaahat in 1996. Before that, they worked in Saaransh, Gumrah, Dil Hain Ki Manta Nahi to name a few.

On being quizzed if he misses seeing Bhatt on the director's seat, Anupam answered, "I had asked him once the same question and he replied, 'No, you can't make a dead man alive and I don't want to'. Bhatt has a point and we should respect." However, Kher admitted that he was one of the best directors that he has ever worked with. "I am lucky to have been directed by him," said the actor. Apparently, Bhatt saab still advises Kher on his life.
