Reportedly Kangana Ranaut turned down Thugs of Hindostan a Yash Raj Film production which stars Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. After she turned it down Katrina Kaif bagged the role. The Simran actor had always been vocal about not being sidelined in front of the leading male actors. And it’s pretty clear with movies like Simran and Queen in her kitty, Kangana is the hero of her own films.

At a cinema summit, she opened up about the rumours and put them to rest by sharing, “I was NEVER approached for Thugs of Hindostan. I don’t know what the script is.”  The on-board cast of Thugs of Hindostan includes Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Jackie Shroff.

Interestingly, as per Kangana, the only movie offered by Yash Raj banner to Queen star was Sultan opposite Salman Khan that she turned down. Speaking about it she said, “Understanding today's time, I am going to choose something that will stimulate my mind otherwise I’ll be sleepwalking through the film. And at the time of Sultan, they had a great character for a girl to play but I couldn’t see anything for me. Coming from a double role space in Tanu weds Manu Returns and having done so much with my previous roles -I felt like I’ll demean myself.

Though we are wondering Kangana had been on board for Thugs of Hindostan it would have been the most anticipated movie of 2018 given its star cast and YRF backing.

Meanwhile, Simran is getting a lukewarm response at the box office while Kangana is being praised for her performance. She’ll be next seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi an ambitious project helmed by Telegu director Krish.
