Shree Narayan Singh, whose Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is still packing audiences in theatres across the country, has scrapped the idea of making his next film Roshini. Its story was based on the electricity scam in India and was written by Vipul Rawal who earlier scripted Rustom. But apparently the buzz in the media over Roshini discouraged Shree and the director has now dropped the idea of the project altogether. Reports were that he had earlier signed Shahid Kapoor for Roshini. Now Shree is working on an entirely new story which is not being written by Vipul but whose star is still going to be Shahid. "This film’s title hasn't been decided yet, it’s still in process," says a source. “Shree has approached a new writer to script a different story.”
Rumours doing the rounds were that this new film by Shree would also be on the electricity scam but our source denied this was the case. “The film will have human value and drama with some social message. Shree is toying with many ideas which will be very topical. At the same time it will be high on love and emotion," he claims.
According to the source, the director was very keen on announcing the project in a grand way but as the news leaked out in the media, the director decided to keep all future developments under wraps. Now the film is only discussed among some close people from his team.
Shree is thrilled that his debut film Toilet-Ek Prem Katha entered the 100 crore club. But now the director wants to move ahead and start work on his next film with Shahid. The actor, however, is wrapping up Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. But it will be a couple of months before Shahid will begin prepping for the role in Shree’s film.
There is also news that the director will lock an A-list actress opposite Shahid by this weekend. The film will be produced by Prerna Arora's KriArj Entertainment and should roll early next year.
