The industry is abuzz with the excitement of what the future may hold given that Reshma Shetty, the former manager of Salman Khan, has now been signed up by Priyanka Chopra, who is a good friend of Bhaijaan’s.

Shetty, who had been credited with turning Salman’s career right side up, with her strategic business moves and insightful choice of films, had been shown the door by her most famous client, earlier this year. However, Shetty is now back in the reckoning, managing the career moves of B-town’s hottest Hollywood export, Priyanka Chopra.

With Chopra signing on with Reshma’s company, all her work in India with be handled by her company Matrix, which is rated as one of the top rung talent management agencies in India.

Word has it that another agency, the Madhu Mantena-Anirban Blah co-founded KWAN was also in the reckoning. Madhu Mantena had allegedly even met Priyanka in New York to try and bring her on board; however, it was Shetty who got Priyanka to sign on the dotted line back in Mumbai.

This move could have repercussions for the Salman-Priyanka equation. PC is very close to the Khan family, especially to Salman’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma, and is a regular at their home when time permits. What’s more, Salman and Reshma did not end their association on a good note. There had been accusations flying back and forth, and the matter is obviously a raw nerve with Salman. And it is well known that if you befriend an enemy of Salman’s you will not be regarded as a friend…

The Priyanka-Reshma association also triggers added sensationalism… Besides handling the work of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor-Khan, Ms Shetty also handles the work of another famous client – Akshay Kumar. Given PC’s past association with Akki, we wonder if this move is creating any worry lines on Ms.Funnybones’s pretty brow!
