Responding to the viral pictures of son Ranbir Kapoor spending some private time, chilling with Pakistani beauty Mahira Khan on the streets of NYC, Rishi Kapoor lambasted the media and cleared that his son is a young star, is unmarried and a bachelor. As per Papa Kapoor, junior RK can meet anybody 'whoever he wants to, and if people are going to invade his privacy, it’s not done.' And, Chintu ji totally defended Ranbir's choice of meeting any girl!

Oh Oh... Sr Kapoor further said to the leading daily that he fails to understand why people are making a hue and cry about the fact that they couple was huffing and puffing in the photos. “How do we know that here’s something more to this picture? He could have met her just outside there. They must have been in a restaurant or a place where they cannot smoke, that’s why they are smoking outside. In US, they have really strict rules that don’t allow smoking in public places. I can’t say anything more because I don’t know anything more than that," slammed Chintu Ji.

That's not all. Responding to the rumours that the two are 'dating', Rishi lambasted the people who are spearheading this baseless gossip. "“If they were dating or seeing each other, wouldn’t people in Mumbai know? If they met in New York in July when Ranbir was shooting for Hirani’s film, wouldn’t we all know by now? Would we not have new pictures here in Mumbai? So, these rumours are only dumb.”

The duo, who was chilling in NYC in July, was seen smoking together on streets and looking comfortable in each other's company.
