Maybe she has finally learnt from her rakhi brother, the art of putting her point across firmly and unflinchingly. Shweta Rohira’s friends are a tad taken aback by how she is laying down the law about any discussion to do with her ex-husband, Pulkit Samrat. She wants to start life on a fresh slate and if and when a friend brings up Pulkit in a conversation, that friend had best be prepared to be curtly cut short.
The wounds of her broken marriage are still raw and Shweta is very clear that she will not tolerate any talk about him or his alleged girlfriend, Yami Gautam. Problem is, since she and Pulkit had been dating for a long while, they share many common friends, whom they remain individually close to even after their separation and divorce. And when these friends get together with Shweta, like they did at the recent party she had hosted at her residence, talk invariably meanders to her ex and his current. And it clearly rubs Shweta the wrong way. Certain guests at the do, which saw Salman’s girlfriend Iulia Vantur, Mouni Roy, Aamna Shariff, Richa Chadha, Ali Zafar, Varun Sharma, Karan Anshuman and Elli Avram among others in attendance, noticed how the moment someone mentioned Pulkit and Yami, Shweta simply grimaced and moved away from the group or the person making those remarks.
It’s the best way to teach such ‘well-meaning’ friends a lesson or two in privacy and healing. It cannot do a woman good to listen to tales about her once-husband’s antics. In the past, Shweta has even come out in the open and spoken about her ugly divorce, including naming Yami as the reason for her broken marriage. She has spilled all about Pulkit’s extramarital affair with the Kaabil actress, which had ended all her hopes of a happily-ever-after for her and her husband. But now, several pounds lighter, looking better than ever and determined to move on after a bad marriage, she has had enough of dwelling on the past.
“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance,” she had shared on Valentine’s Day. It’s time her friends’ circle backs off and allows her to get on with the business of living and loving herself.
