The actor, who was present for the media event said, “I was born at the time when cricket was big in our country. When Kabir Khan came to me and said that there will be a film on 1983, I was like finally! And when he was narrating it to me, I was like whoa! It is not a story just about cricket but a human story." It was a proud moment for Indian cricket and the nation when the team led by Kapil Dev lifted the World Cup at Lord's in London.
Ranveer is also nervous, "How am I going to do this? ” he asked. But at the same time, the actor is also happy to be part of the film, “I am honoured that I will be a part of the biggest story. Goosebumps and goosebumps in the second part of the film, right Kabir sir?"

As a filmmaker, for me, the journey to that win, filled with raw energy and sheer passion of that young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on.
He added, "It’s great to have Ranveer come on board to play Kapil Dev, as honestly, I could see no one else for the role, ever since I started finalizing the script.
