Jacqueline clears the air with Alia

The gossip mills haven’t had it so good in a while now. The moment news filtered out of Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt ending their relationship and Jacqueline Fernandez entering the picture, eyes were peeled for any and every possible sign of fracas between Sid’s alleged current and his ex. Naturally, Jackie meeting up with Sid’s family and, more importantly, unfollowing Alia on Instagram, was seen as the biggest confirmation of war between the two beauties.

The truth, insists the lovely Ms. Fernandez, couldn’t be more different. In a recent interview, she lashed out at the rumours of catfights, saying, “The kind of impression that the media gives about actresses is we are fighting among ourselves or over somebody…It’s as if the heroines don’t have any greater goal in life than having a catfight or date our co-stars. I didn’t unfollow her (Alia). I was never following her!” Okay, that is a twist in the tale!

She goes on to reveal in her forthright manner that she actually picked up the phone and called up Alia to speak about the link-up talk. She told the Bhatt girl that while she didn’t care how the world judged her, she did care what Alia herself thought of her. They went on to speak about the whole ‘unfollowing’ incident, which had no truth to it at all.

Jackie avers that she follows over a thousand people and while she and Alia have a great deal of banter on Twitter, she actually hadn’t even realised that she wasn’t following Alia on Instagram. “We are always having conversations on Twitter, so I was thinking, “Are people retarded? Don’t they see all that?” explained the stunner from Sri Lanka. The matter apparently ended with the two girls giggling together and deciding that the next time they met, they would click umpteen selfies and display them on their social networking accounts.

And for those of us dying to know if she and Sid are an item, sorry to burst the bubble. “Sid and I are not dating, we are just friends. I don’t see why two actors who have had a happy working relationship always have to be linked to each other. Honestly, I don’t want to date my co-stars. They are professionals to me, and people I’m working with. So I don’t want to be in a relationship with them.”

We’re still keeping our fingers crossed, Jackie girl!
