For a change, Hrithik is not hitting the headlines for murky relationship issues courtesy motor-mouth ex, Kangana Ranaut. But it’s controversy all the same and the image-conscious Hrithik Roshan could not be pleased about it at all…
The actor has been making moves in the professional space that could be seen as heartbreak of another kind… Apparently, after being in close talks with Ronnie Screwvala and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and verbally committing to their film Kabaddi, he has had a change of heart. The star has conveyed to the filmmaker duo that he will not be in a position to do their film, and he didn’t need to spell out the reason why…
He has chosen to give the same dates in February, March and April 2018 to Aditya Chopra instead for the YRF film, which will also star Tiger Shroff.
On the face of it, of course Hrithik made the predictable sounds about not being too convinced of the script. He apparently informed Ronnie and Rakeysh that he simply wasn’t too kicked about the Kabaddi script and that it would need to be reworked before he could give it the nod. This naturally came as a nasty jolt from the blue to the filmmakers. In the past, he had shown complete interest in the film based on the sport, and there were talks that the film would even feature Ronnie Screwvala’s kabaddi team, U-Mumbai. Talks had progressed to an extent where the filmmakers planned on unveiling the first look of the film at the fifth season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Screwvala roping in director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who had done a wonderful job with the sports biopic on Milkha Singh, was seen as the perfect decision to please their perfectionist male lead. However, after all but slipping into the shoes of the kabaddi player he was poised to play, Hrithik has chosen to do a no-show.
While the filmmaker duo is still hoping for a change of heart, when it’s Hrithik Roshan, they had best pick up the pieces and move on, right, Kangana Ranaut?
