She has been called out for her alleged problematic behaviour during the shooting of her debut film itself. However, damage control has kicked in. Kedarnath producer Arjun N Kapoor has come out in defence of Sara Ali Khan, claiming, “These reports are not just incorrect, but also malicious towards our young actress who is extremely professional. Sara is giving her 100% to the film.” He has praised Sara for being intelligent, well-read and educated. Despite knowing how the industry functions, she is not afraid to work hard and ask questions, he points out, adding that she has completely won over the crew of the film already. Now daddy Saif Ali Khan adds an emotional tone, sharing his concern for his daughter, “which is pretty normal for any father.” Maintaining that he is not nervous because he is not living vicariously through her, he is nonetheless worried about the kind of relationships she will have, and how she would deal with failure.

Well aware of the changing equations and constant insecurity of the industry, he has his fears on his daughter’s account. But not too many… He reveals that Sara has already displayed an admirable streak of independence. Apparently, she simply came to her father and told him that she would be doing Kedarnath. They didn’t discuss the script in detail, he says, “as I don’t think my opinion matters!” Now, he adds, she will take the consequences, whether it means flying or doing down with it.

Simply happy for Sara to be doing something she is passionate about, he adds that the only thing he has told her is to stay true to her job as an artiste. And then just before he sounds like the preachy papa, he adds that wife Kareena has pointed out that he started taking interest in his work only recently and still found his way! “I hope she too finds her way,” he muses. After that touching speech, we hope so too!
