Mere days ago, we heard of Deepika Padukone getting into a fracas with the Secretary of the PHRA (Pali Hill Residents Association), over a parking space in her old residential building. We predict many more noisy disturbances in store, now that the fiery Kangana Ranaut has bought herself a bungalow right here!

The property is located on Nargis Dutt road and is surrounded by the homes of Bollywood’s rich and famous. A ground plus three-storey structure, its reported worth is a cool Rs.20.7 crore, and the registration was completed last September.

The bungalow comes with its own parking space – itself admeasuring 565 sq. ft. so hopefully no parking fights here! Kangana’s spokesperson confirms that the bungalow will function as the office of the actress’s production house, Manikarnika Films.

The name has clearly been inspired by her upcoming film, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. Manikarnika was the first name of the fearless Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, whom Kangana clearly idolises, and whose spirit, she believes, needs to be celebrated. In fact, she had honestly pointed out that she herself was rebellious but Rani Laxmibai was a rebel with a cause which made her a hero. She called herself a badass who reacts according to her instincts, but Manikarnika is a hero, she repeated.

It was at the release of a 20-feet poster of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, at Dasashwamedh ghat in Varanasi, that Kangana had revealed her plans to venture into direction. “I want to move on to the next phase which means that I will focus on my career as a filmmaker and if I act I will act in my film so, after Manikarnika, I’m directing my film.” Quizzed on the genre she was interested in debuting with, and the surprise answer was ‘Comedy’!

We can safely presume that the script is locked in. Now the office space is too. Good going, Ms. Producer!
