There’s no boxing or second-guessing Vidya Balan – she will just surprise you every single time. The actress, who was a guest on Neha Dhupia’s podcast show, No Filter Neha Season 2, made some crackling revelations about how it was locking lips with Emraan Hashmi and Arshad Warsi on screen, and that she doesn’t mind smooching a girl, too!
When Neha made this suggestion on #NoFilterNeha, Vidya retorted, “Why not? It’s not my natural instinct obviously (to kiss a girl), but for a role, maybe like Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek or Emma Stone.”
Vidya also unselfconsciously shared her experience of kissing her co-actors Arshad and Emraan. She dubbed Arshad as “very good”, but Emraan would supposedly say something ridiculous to her just before the scene! “During Ghanchakkar, he kept telling me — so what do you think Siddharth (Roy Kapur)’s going to say after the scene? You think I’ll get my last cheque? And I’d be like, maybe.”
Speaking of her husband and film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur (SRK), she continues to be smitten. “I wake up to a better-looking SRK,” she has said, punning on the initials her husband shares with Shah Rukh Khan, adding, “He is the most good-looking guy on the planet Earth. I'm glad I signed up for it.”
Rating perhaps as high on her list of best-loves, would be Vidya’s love for the movies. She is such a film junkie and loves shooting so much that even the smell of paint and turpentine are heady stuff for this born-actress. She shares that she loves to inhale this peculiar smell on a film set. “Wherever I smell paint or turpentine, I ask for people to get me a little bit of it and I keep inhaling it. And people have told me it's an addiction and I'm like no, it's not an addiction!” she chortled.
