For those who felt bad to see Katrina Kaif apparently lose her mojo, it’s a happy sight to see her win it right back. The actress is looking in a better position than ever with three big films in her kitty – Tiger Zinda Hai opposite Salman Khan, Thugs of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and Aanand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan. Now she could well be adding a Kapoor to that trio of Khans.

Buzz goes that the actress has been offered the role of Shahid Kapoor’s love interest in
Roshni. That is the working title of the social entertainer to be directed by the maker of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shree Narayan Singh. Penned by Vipul K Rawal, who had also written Rustom, the film is said to portray the fight of a common man against the powers that be – namely, the power distribution companies in the country, which charge consumers heavily for power supply.

It would be just the kind of substantial film that would look good in Katrina’s repertoire. Apparently, before she left for Los Angeles to work on launching her career in Hollywood, Shree gave her a narration and she loved it immediately. The story has appealed to her and she is said to be eager to come on board. Her team has been instructed to work out the nitty-gritty such as dates and remuneration before she signs on the dotted line.

While the director evidently believes that Katrina would be absolutely right for the role, there is apparently an additional reason for her being offered the film… Roshni would see Katrina team up with Shahid Kapoor for the first time – and apparently, it was this fresh, never-before pairing that was a key factor in her being offered the role in the first place. The director was keen to cast a pair that hadn’t been seen together onscreen ever before. Not that this should bother Kat anyway, right!
