‘Shah Rukh, tula BMC var bharosa nahi ka?’ That would elicit a resounding ‘no!’ from the superstar who keeps finding disfavour with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. News now comes in that the BMC has demolished energy saving solar panels in an area outside his office premises in Malad (West).
In a statement released by Shah Rukh's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd clarifies that Red Chillies Vfx is a tenant and not the owner of the property mentioned. The building apparently has an open area outside with seating, which employees use for eating the food that they get from home. It is not an operational canteen, the statement points out.
What’s baffling is that the BMC has apparently demolished the energy saving solar panels which provide clean energy to the entire VFX building. The statement also confirmed that Red Chillies VFX will be taking up this issue with the concerned authorities at the BMC.
We doubt very much that it will yield positive results!
Readers will recall that two years ago, the BMC had come down on SRK for constructing an illegal ramp outside his bungalow, Mannat. The superstar had even been fined Rs.1,93,784 by the BMC.
The reinforced cement-concrete ramp constructed outside the actor's landmark bungalow, which was used for parking his vanity van, had led to an outcry. Activists had claimed that by constructing the ramp for his private use, Shah Rukh Khan had encroached on a portion of public land, and blocked access to the Mount Mary Church steps from the Bandstand end. Following a campaign by various citizens and activists, the municipal commissioner initiated action and a notice was slapped on Shah Rukh on February 6, 2015.
After the notice period ended, on February 15, the BMC commenced demolition of the ramp which lay outside the bungalow on the junction of HK Bhabha Road and Mount Mary Road.
Post-demolition, the BMC had served a demand notice of Rs.193,785 on the actor as costs towards the razing of the illegal structure. Without further fuss, the superstar quietly sent the payment across through cheque for the entire amount.
