Sunny Deol's every waking hour is spent working on his son Karan Deol’s debut film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The proud and protective Sunny, who also wields the director’s baton for this one, has spoken about it being a 'huge task' given it is Karan's first film. “I want to give my best to it. I am a bit conscious as I am launching him,” he has shyly revealed. The proud and generally low-profile Sunny had even shared a photograph of him with his son earlier this year, sounding more than a tad emotional… “Started Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. Karan's first day at shoot... Can't get enough... My boy has grown big.”
…Which is why we can presume that Sunny is not handling it too well now that the shooting for the film, which started rolling in February, has ground to a halt what with the 22-year-old Karan having fractured his leg, while shooting a song in Manali. While Karan was rushed back to the city for treatment and to recuperate, the leading lady of the film, Saher Bamba too has left Manali for her hometown Shimla. With no scenes to shoot, the 18-year-old Saher is making the most of this break as she spends time with her folks back home.
Our veteran Sunny though is staying put in Manali. Naturally disappointed by this setback, he is nevertheless trying to use this period to shoot some of the peripheral scenes of Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. Sunny is keen that Karan recovers completely before returning to Manali to resume shooting. That would mean a break of at least 12 days, during which time Sunny will have to cool his heels and hope and pray that shooting gets back on track soon.
Enforced downtime is no fun at all, right, Sunny?
