Judwaa 2 has been raking in the moolah besides adding to his list of personal bests – and at the hit-starved box office right now, that is a big deal! - but leading man Varun Dhawan is sounding surprisingly mature about it all in public (in private, he might be jumping with glee, but then we don’t have the privilege of seeing that side of him, right, Natasha Dalal?)
Varun has been talking about the inner changes that have occurred in him over the past three years. He shares that he used to be extremely hyper and competitive in his career but a change has set in for a while now. Watching how the business has evolved, today he wishes that every film does well; yes, even better than Judwaa 2.
Sounding like a candidate running for the presidency at the very least, he adds that he wants the films of every person he is compared to, and is reportedly in competition with, to do better than his own. “We are an industry, and we are all in this together and can't survive without each other. I feel it is high time we realize that. If we go against each other, or if we get happiness from other people's fall, then there is no way we will move ahead.’’
Sidharth Malhotra, hope you are suitably touched!
Already on a happy high, he is predictably gushy when it comes to discussing working with director dad, David Dhawan for the second time. He calls himself lucky for this second chance at working with his dad, saying he can only learn from his veteran filmmaker father’s experience of working in 44 films. “Just getting to spend time with him on sets is amazing,” he says, adding, “I must say he is a very different person on set than he is in real life.’’
Hmmm… could one say that about Varun too, we wonder!
