No designer war here, Sussanne quashes talk of competition with Gauri

The ex-Mrs. Roshan has come out to suggest that there is zero rivalry between her and her friend, Mrs. Khan. Both interior designing experts, they had even started out together with a collaborative venture, the Charcoal Project. But that was many moons ago, and they went their separate ways after an alleged fallout between the two star wives.

Since then, while Sussanne has stayed committed to her work it’s Gauri who has been hitting the headlines more often for her independent design company. Recently it was intriguing to watch both Shah Rukh and Hrithik go all out to promote the design businesses of Gauri and Sussanne respectively. While SRK had shared a video exhibiting Gauri Khan Designs store, with the comment, “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going... @gaurikhan your passion for design and perseverance shines through at Gauri Khan Designs,” Hrithik had paid a special visit to The Charcoal Project store, where he posed with his ex-wife and the design team and encouraged them on social media as well.
Sussanne Khan, however, points out that there is no competition between her and Gauri when it comes to interior designing.

At a recent event she went on record to call Gauri Khan her “dear friend”. She explained, “I am really happy that she is doing very well. I think that when you're friends you feel happy for the person, there is no competition, there is more love.”

Now that is really sporting of Sussanne, considering Gauri Khan today is by far the bigger name in the interiors business. Among the feathers in her design cap, are her signature line under the international design and architecture firm The First Ferry; home, restaurant, offices and spa interiors in India and abroad; consulting on landscape design, yacht interiors; a line of furniture and chandeliers; and now a lavish new store in Juhu which is bringing in the celebrity clientele in droves.

To stay untouched by the green monster takes a very special kind of person, and Sussanne Khan evidently has just what it takes. We’re impressed!
