The Nawab and his Begum celebrate five years of married bliss today but we really don’t see any signs of reduction in their happiness quotient with the passing years. Here’s why we think Kareena and Saif make a perfect couple…
She’s still smitten!
Kareena has never made any secret of her feelings and admiration for her husband. “God has been very kind to me. I am lucky to have found this man who is so modern, so liberated. He’s much more intelligent than me. I like the fact that he is so well read and that I can count on him for everything,” she has happily gushed.
Love Matters
The couple had been living in for some time before they decided to tie the knot. Again, they spoke about how the step was a celebration of the fact that they loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. “I don't think anything has changed,” Kareena had declared. “If you are in love and you are happy, then that's all that matters!”
Crackling chemistry!
Kareena first fell for Saif when she apparently saw him sunbathing shirtless near the pool while shooting for Tashan! Others claim that Saif was smitten even before that when they were shooting Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara (2006). Langda Tyagi was apparently floored by the ethereal Desdemona and vowed that he would make her his. That chemistry is still alive and crackling, a great glue to bind a couple in bliss.
Pampering Galore!
Which girl doesn’t love flamboyant proof of her man’s devotion? Saif’s sizeable tattoo of his woman’s name in Devanagari script floored her then, as do the fancy holidays on which he continues to whisk her off.
Family Bonding
Kareena is very close to her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore, and has often spoken about how much she admires her. She is also very close to Saif’s children from his first marriage, Sara and Ibrahim. Saif too is extremely fond of his sister-in-law Karisma and is said to have been a great support to her through her difficult divorce. This mutual respect and fondness for each other’s families is a great binding glue.
Live & Let Live
Despite his mother’s wish that Kareena convert her religion at the time of their marriage, Saif refused to pressurise Kareena to do so. Their wedding ceremony was a happy blend of rituals from both sides, which sets the tone of respect and equality for both partners.
A tot of their own!
New daddy Saif had spoken about his experience of fatherhood, saying, “There is something about a baby that is kind of half of mine and half of hers, so, it's a nice feeling.” The duo are thoroughly enjoying parenting their adorable son, Taimur. As Saif put it, “I think it's also a great expression of my relationship with Kareena. To have a child now completes us.” We rest our case.
