Some anniversaries are a little extra special. We get that as we see Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan get together with proud mentor-cum-mother-hen, Karan Johar, to mark five years of Student of the Year.

The foursome, who have remained very close, jammed together to shake a leg and cut a cake, images of which were shared on the Dharma Productions social media pages with the caption, “Here's a little something to help you wait for the reunion! #5YearsOfSOTY” K Jo is master at building suspense and he has sure got all the SOTY-ers indulge in wishful thinking about the next possible instalment! We were also treated to the sight of the fab four doing a Boomerang of the popular hook step from ‘The Disco Song’, which appeared with the caption – “Diwali just got brighter with this magical reunion! #5YearsOfSOTY & the nostalgia doesn't stop!”

Indeed, there was no stopping the nostalgia. Karan went on to share a still from SOTY, saying, “#5YearsOfSOTY ...a film that gave me three solid lifelong relationships!!!! @S1dharthM @Varun_dvn @aliaa08”. The gushing continued with Alia tweeting, “Love you @karanjohar my father my friend.. thank you for making this day happen! Couldn't have asked for a better opening to my story :)”…

She didn’t forget her fans, cooing, “Thank you for all the love!!! It's been such a journey but hopefully it shall be a long one… sooo grateful, promise to always work hard.”
