After hitting the right notes with "Jolly LLB 2", "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" and "Judwaa 2", Fox Star Studios wants to continue the successful run and is pinning high hopes on Karan Johar's upcoming production venture.
After "Jolly LLB 2" and "Badrinath Ki Dulhania", filmmaker David Dhawan's action-comedy film "Judwaa 2", a reboot of the 1997 Salman Khan-starrer "Judwaa", also crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in eight days since its release.
The film, starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, released on September 29. It was backed by Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala.
"We are thrilled by the overwhelming response we have got from audiences which delivered three 100 crore blockbusters in 2017 for us -- 'Jolly LLB 2', 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' and now 'Judwaa 2'. It's a fantastic achievement to have 'Judwaa 2' race past the Rs 225 crore mark globally, so far," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said in a statement.
"We are proud of our partnerships with Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala and look forward to making more such entertaining films with them in the future," Singh added.
Karan's banner Dharma Productions, along with Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala, will jointly produce director Abhishek Varman's upcoming directorial venture.
The yet to be titled project will release on April 19, 2019.
