Sara Ali Khan must be a happy girl. Buzz goes that she could well be signing her next film soon, produced by Anushka Sharma, no less!

Now that is a tad surprising, because just last month the girl had been singing a different tune. We had been treated to reports of Sara being determined not to sign any new film without first checking out how the first look and trailers of her debut film, Kedarnath, were perceived. Busy shooting with co-star Sushant Singh Rajput in Uttarakhand, she had supposedly decided not to sign any other film until Kedarnath, pegged to be an unusual love story, hit the screens. Question is: Is Amrita Singh behind this change of heart?

The offer from Anushka Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Films, along with KriArj Entertainment, has been too tempting to pass up – apparently more for momager Amrita Singh, than Sara herself. It is a known fact that it is Sara’s mother, actress Amrita who largely handles her fledgling career. She has been keeping a keen eye on the offers that come Sara’s way. However, Amrita supposedly doesn’t want Sara to restrict herself to working on Kedarnath alone, and is keen for her to sign on more films before her debut movie hits the screens. Having been a leading actress herself, Amrita is all too aware of how things function in the industry. She is keen that Sara does not put all her eggs, so to speak, in one basket and moves on in her career with other interesting projects as well. Naturally, she wants Sara to read the scripts that are coming her way and greenlight the good ones as well, so she has a clutch of good films to bank on.

Ironically, it is Sara who is supposedly digging her heels in and taking her time as she focuses all her energies on Kedarnath. Her mother is not at all happy with her attitude, but apparently she has won this round: Sara will evidently sign on her next film with Clean Slate. Momagers generally do have the last word!
