The first schedule of Dhadak, starring Sridevi’s eldest daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor, and Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khattar, will be shot in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Produced by Karan Johar, the film is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The two star kids will be making their Bollywood debut in Dhadak and will reportedly start shooting in December.
There were rumours surrounding the delay in the shooting of the film but the dates and location for the shoot seem to have been finalized. Both actors visited Udaipur some time back where their debut film will be shot. The important scenes and song sequences will be shot in the Lake City.
While the original was a Marathi film in which two lovers get entangled in a forbidden romance, reportedly, in the Bollywood remake of the film, Ishaan will be playing a Dalit boy, who falls in love with a Brahmin girl, played by Jhanvi. It’s meant to highlight the widespread and cruel practice of honour killing in the country. The rigid caste system becomes an obstacle for the young lovers and this forms the crux of the plot. The filmmakers have picked Rajasthan as a backdrop for the film and the newcomers are also said to participate in a workshop in Udaipur.
The youngsters have created quite a buzz amongst the youth and have a massive social media fan following. While Jhanvi is known for her fashion picks on Instagram, Ishaan is adored by teenage girls, thanks to the amazing moves he has got, just like elder bro Shahid. There were rumours that Jhanvi-Ishaan have been dating, but industry insiders dismiss such reports. As per them, it’s a mere publicity gimmick to keep the two debutantes in the limelight.
