Newbie parents Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu are expectedly all smitten by their little bundle of joy, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu who made her appearance on September 29, this year. Soha is still sounding a tad overawed by the experience when she says, “It’s definitely life altering. I am sort of still coming to terms with the fact that I’m a mother…It’s a huge responsibility. Kunal and I are new to it, first time mother, and first time father. So, we’re figuring it out, a day at a time.”

Daddy Kunal is sounding all mature himself, when he talks about the different choices parents make, which should be respected. Speaking about their decision not to ferociously guard their tot from the paparazzi, he maintained, “I feel it’s a personal choice. You only do what you think will be good for the baby. It’s like some think massage is necessary for the baby. I don’t think someone who doesn’t do it is wrong. There’s no formula to this. It’s about what makes you feel secure. If you are like, ‘I don’t want flashes on my baby’s face’, it’s fine. You have to respect that space. Some people behave differently. I know a few people who give their babies to everybody and I also know the ones who feel otherwise because they think babies are infection-prone. They will go sanitise the room all the time. I have a dog and my dog is in the same room as my baby. Some parents don’t want dogs in their kids’ rooms until they are five or six. Everyone has their own way of figuring it out and there’s no need to change it for anybody else.”

Well-said! Soha is already set to release her first book, The Perils of Being Moderately Famous. We suggest Kunal could try his hand at writing a book on sensible parenting, next. He’ll rock it!
