Rohit Shetty is already giving us a taste of what is to come… The action specialist will be combining forces with the absolutely electric Ranveer Singh for the very first time – and it already looks like we will be in for a total paisa vasool experience. The director, whose Golmaal Again has just crossed the Rs.200 crore-mark in the domestic market, is gung-ho about his next actioner, which will be a remake of the Telugu film Temper.

Talking about the film, Rohit says it will be an out and out action masala entertainer, the kind that hasn’t been attempted before. He is expectedly thrilled about working with Ranveer, who he feels is best suited to the script. “Given the kind of energy and enthusiasm Ranveer has, I’m sure he will do justice to the part,” he states. We have zero doubts on that score, as well! Going by the original Temper, Ranveer will play a corrupt police officer with a difference…

Temper, which released in 2015, had been a commercial success and received positive reviews from critics too. It was hailed for dealing with a sensitive story and yet conveying it with all the commercial elements needed for a film to click at the box office. The film focuses on two key players - Daya, a corrupt police officer earning illegal money by leveraging his capacity as an official, and an influential smuggler Vasu with whom Daya joins hands. Vasu wants to kill a woman named Lakshmi who has evidence of a crime committed by his four brothers. The film deals with Daya’s redemption.

Apparently, while around 20 percent of the original story will be retained, the rest will be tweaked to suit the tastes of the Hindi film audience. Rohit expects to complete the final draft of the film by December and intends shooting in May 2018. He is targeting a Christmas 2018 release.

Incidentally, Rohit refutes rumours of Katrina Kaif being approached for the female lead. But hey, there’s an idea there; she would be rather a good choice, we think!
